Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026 is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam for admission to MBBS courses offered by Government Medical Colleges in the state. Candidates who qualify the NEET UG examination are eligible to participate in the counselling process by submitting an online application through the official counselling portal. Admission to 85% State Quota seats is conducted by DME Assam, while counselling for the remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam conducts the counselling process for admission to MBBS courses in Government Medical Colleges across the state. Candidates must complete the online registration, document verification, choice filling, and seat allotment process according to the counselling schedule released by DME Assam.

Assam NEET UG 2026 Counselling Registration

Step 1: Online Registration

Visit the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam and complete the online registration form for NEET UG Counselling.

Step 2: Upload Documents

After completing the registration, upload the required documents in the prescribed format.

  • Recent passport-size colour photograph (JPG/JPEG, 15 KB – 100 KB, 150 × 200 pixels).
  • Signature on white paper using blue/black ink (JPG/JPEG, 4 KB – 100 KB, 150 × 100 pixels).
  • Other supporting documents in a single PDF file (Maximum 500 KB).
  • Class 10 (SSLC) Certificate.
  • Proof of Nativity (Birth Certificate / SSLC Certificate / Passport).
  • Proof of Date of Birth.
  • Category / Reservation Certificate (if applicable).

Step 3: Preview Uploaded Images

  • Preview the uploaded photograph and signature.
  • Ensure both images are clearly visible.
  • Re-upload the files if the images are blurred or incorrect.
  • Verify that the photograph and signature are uploaded in the correct fields.

Step 4: Declaration & Final Submission

  • Review all the information entered in the application form.
  • Select the declaration checkbox after verifying the details.
  • Click on the Final Submit button.
  • An Application/Registration Number will be generated.
  • The application number and password will also be sent via Email and SMS.
  • Keep these details safely for future login and counselling activities.

Step 5: Payment of Registration Fee

  • Click on the payment link after submitting the application.
  • Complete the payment using Internet Banking, Debit Card or Credit Card.
  • Download and save the payment receipt for future reference.
  • Payment gateway or bank charges, if any, are to be borne by the candidate.
  • Ensure that the fee is paid before the prescribed deadline.

Assam NEET UG Counselling Process 2026

Step 1: Registration

Candidates must first register online through the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam.

  • Visit the official counselling website.
  • Click on the Assam NEET UG Counselling Registration link.
  • Enter your personal details, NEET UG Roll Number and Rank.
  • Verify all information carefully before submitting the application.
  • Complete the online registration process successfully.

Step 2: Document Verification

After successful registration, candidates must attend the document verification process at the designated verification centre.

  • Carry all original documents along with self-attested photocopies.
  • NEET UG Admit Card and Score Card.
  • Class 10 & 12 Mark Sheets and Passing Certificates.
  • Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, etc.).
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable).
  • Category / Reservation Certificate (if applicable).
  • Recent Passport Size Photographs.

Step 3: Choice Filling & Locking

After document verification, eligible candidates can log in to the counselling portal and fill their preferred colleges and courses.

  • Login using the allotted User ID and Password.
  • Select preferred Medical Colleges in order of priority.
  • Arrange choices carefully as seat allotment depends on preference order.
  • Save and lock the choices before the last date.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

Seat allotment is carried out on the basis of NEET UG Rank, reservation policy, seat availability and choices filled by the candidate.

  • Check the seat allotment result on the official website.
  • Download the allotment letter.
  • Accept the allotted seat if satisfied.
  • Candidates not satisfied may participate in the next counselling round.

Step 5: Reporting to the Allotted College

Candidates who are allotted a seat must report to the respective medical college within the prescribed reporting period.

  • Report to the allotted institute before the deadline.
  • Submit all original documents for verification.
  • Pay the admission fee.
  • Complete all admission formalities to confirm the seat.

Step 6: Upgradation (Optional)

Candidates wishing to obtain a better college may participate in the upgradation/next round of counselling.

  • Choose the option for upgradation during counselling.
  • Participate in the next round of choice filling and seat allotment.
  • If a higher preferred seat is allotted, the previous seat will be automatically cancelled.
  • If no better seat is allotted, the previously accepted seat will remain valid as per counselling rules.

Types of Assam NEET 2025 Cutoff

The MBBS admission cutoff for Government Medical Colleges in Assam is released under the following quotas:

  • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Cutoff: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), releases the college-wise and category-wise cutoff for admission under the 15% All India Quota seats.
  • 85% State Quota Cutoff: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam releases the State Quota MBBS cutoff for admission to 85% State Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges.
  • 15% NRI Quota Cutoff: DME Assam also releases the college-wise and category-wise cutoff for admission under the NRI Quota, wherever applicable.
