Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune is a premier medical institute of India. The College is a Centre of Excellence for medical education and research. It was initially established in 1948 for postgraduate courses. The graduate wing for the MBBS course was started on 04 Aug 1962 with the aim of inducting medical graduates to the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). Presently the college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services. AFMC, Pune is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.

Counselling & Admission
Introduction
1. Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune is a premier medical institute of India. The College is a Centre of Excellence for medical education and research. It was initially established in 1948 for postgraduate courses. The graduate wing for the MBBS course was started on 04 Aug 1962 with the aim of inducting medical graduates to the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). Presently the college provides training to Graduate, Post-Graduate & Post-Doctoral medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services.
2. AFMC, Pune is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
3. The duration of the MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year. All medical cadets commissioned into the AFMS will undergo internship training in selected service hospitals recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
4. Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to norms prescribed by the Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, and Government of India.
5. Candidates seeking admission for MBBS course at AFMC Pune will have to mandatorily qualify the NEET UG Examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
6. Eligible candidates who are interested to join AFMC Pune must mandatorily register and apply through the DGHS website (www.mcc.nic.in) during the registration window provided.
7. After the last date of registration, the list of candidates will be provided by DGHS. The NEET Roll Numbers of shortlisted candidates will be displayed online. Approximately 1880 candidates (1490 boys and 390 girls) will be called for screening at AFMC Pune. The exact schedule and details will be available on the official websites. Request for change of interview date will not be entertained except under extreme circumstances.
8. (a) The shortlisted candidates will be called for screening which includes Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR), Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), Interview and Medical Examination at AFMC Pune.
8. (b) The ToELR will be a computer-based test of 40 MCQs carrying 80 marks with negative marking of 0.5 for incorrect answers. The duration of the test will be 30 minutes. The marks obtained will be added to the NEET score.
8. (c) This will be followed by a 50-mark interview. Candidates will be evaluated on general awareness, personality, interests, hobbies, and achievements. Extra weightage will be given for NCC, sports participation, and defence background. Final merit will be based on written score + ToELR + interview marks. PAT is qualifying in nature.
8. (d) All candidates will undergo medical examination as per Armed Forces standards. Medically unfit candidates will not be included in the final merit list.
8. (e) Final results including merit list and waitlist will be available on official AFMC and DGAFMS websites.
9. Candidates must produce original documents including mark sheets, NEET admit card, scorecard, and NCC/sports certificates at the time of screening. Proof of qualification must also be provided.
10. Separate merit lists for boys and girls will be prepared based on NEET and screening performance. Admission will be granted according to merit rank.
11. Candidates admitted to AFMC must serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. Short Service Commission requires 7 years of service, while Permanent Commission requires service until retirement.
12. At the time of admission, candidates must sign a bond agreement of ₹65,00,000. Withdrawal after admission may require payment of bond amount as per rules.
AFMC NEET UG 2025 Cut Off
NEET UG 2025 Cutoff AFMC – The Armed Forces Medical College, Pune releases NEET Cutoff AFMC. It is important to note that AFMC will not be
taking admission solely on the basis of NEET UG like other states. AFMC has its own counselling process in which the authorities will
be conducting several tests. However, only the marks scored by the candidates in NEET will be considered for determining
the NEET 2025 cutoff AFMC as the counselling process includes subjective tests like Psychological Assessment Test and
the marks of the candidates along with Personal Interview test cannot be used for stipulating cutoff. There are 150 seats available for AFMC admission
among which 115 seats are reserved for male candidates 30 seats are reserved for female candidates and
5 seats for MEA (Ministry of External Affairs). The shortlisted candidates will be called for Test of English Language,
Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR), Psychological Assessment Test (PAT),
Interview and Medical Examination to be held in the month of June / July at AFMC, Pune.
