Meghalaya MBBS Counselling 2026
MBBS admission in Meghalaya is conducted through the NEET UG Counselling process. Candidates who qualify the NEET UG examination are eligible to participate in both the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the 85% State Quota counselling conducted by the designated counselling authority of Meghalaya. Admissions are granted strictly on the basis of NEET rank, reservation policy, seat availability, and counselling regulations prescribed by the concerned authorities.
Introduction
In compliance with the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and various notifications issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has entrusted the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) with the responsibility of conducting centralized online counselling for MBBS, BDS, Postgraduate Medical, Dental and Super Specialty courses across India. MCC conducts counselling for All India Quota seats, AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, ESIC Institutions and other participating medical colleges.
Types of Counselling Conducted by MCC
UG Counselling
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ) MBBS/BDS seats of all participating States and Union Territories.
- 100% MBBS/BDS seats of Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
- 100% MBBS seats of AIIMS across India.
- 100% MBBS seats of JIPMER (Puducherry & Karaikal).
- 100% MBBS seats of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
- 85% State Quota seats of Delhi University / IP University institutions (VMMC, ABVIMS and ESIC Dental).
- 100% Faculty of Dentistry seats of Jamia Millia Islamia, including the applicable internal quota.
- 15% IP Quota MBBS seats of ESIC Medical Colleges.
PG Counselling
- 50% All India Quota PG Medical and Dental seats.
- 100% PG seats of Central Universities and Central Institutions as per eligibility criteria.
- 100% PG seats of Deemed Universities.
- 50% AIQ PG seats of ESIC Medical Colleges.

Super Specialty Counselling
MCC conducts counselling for 100% DM/M.Ch. Super Specialty seats of participating Government, Private and Deemed Universities across India, except the Institutes of National Importance (INI), as notified by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Meghalaya MBBS Fees Structure 2024
The MBBS fee structure in Meghalaya varies depending on the type of medical college and admission quota. Government Medical Colleges have affordable tuition fees prescribed by the Government of India, whereas Private Medical Colleges have separate fee structures for State Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota admissions. Apart from tuition fees, students are also required to pay hostel charges, mess fees, security deposits, and other one-time institutional fees.

Important Note
- The above fee structure is subject to revision by the Government of India from time to time.
- Annual fees for second and subsequent years are generally payable between 1st August and 14th August of each academic year.
- A delayed payment may attract a penalty as prescribed by the institute.
- The refundable security deposit is released only after submission of the No Due Certificate upon completion of the MBBS course.
- Students resigning or discontinuing the course during counselling may have to forfeit the prescribed amount as per the counselling guidelines.

Government Medical Colleges
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ): The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), releases the college-wise and category-wise cutoff for 15% AIQ seats.
- 85% State Quota: The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong conducts counselling and releases the category-wise cutoff for 85% State Quota seats.
